We also had a very special visit at the school, The Three Wise Men!! Children had the chance to talk to them and the lucky ones even sat in their lap!

¡¡También hemos tenido una visita muy especial en el cole, los Reyes Magos!! Los niños han tenido la oportunidad the hablar con ellos y algunos con más suerte hasta se han sentado en sus piernas!

EXPEDITION IN AUSTRALIA!!

A few days ago we carried out a fun and challenging workshop, first in the playground where we had to look for QR codes and scan them with a tablet in order to find out which Australian animal the code was about. Later in the classroom we watched videos about these animals to work out what their natural habitat is, what they eat and what size they are! We completed all the information on a chart table!

Hace unos días llevamos a cabo un taller muy divertido y retador, primero en el patio donde teníamos que buscar códigos QR y escanearlos con una tablet para averiguar de qué aniamal australiano trataba el código. Más tarde en el aula vimos vídeos de estos animales para resolver en ¡qué hábitat se mueven normalmente, qué comen y qué tamaño tienen! ¡Completamos toda la información en una tabla!

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - PLAYING WITH A DIE

Today we had a bit of spare time and revised some numbers & colours and in order to do so we used a die and a few flashcards. Children had to recognise the number that landed on the die and its colour.
Everybody took part in the game!

Hoy nos ha quedado un poco de tiempo en clase y hemos repasado algunos números y colores y para hacerlo hemos usado un dado y unas tarjetas. Los niños tenían que reconocer el número que había caído en el dado y su color.
Todos participaron en el juego!

DIDGERIDOO, BULLROARER & A FEW BOOMERANGS

After learning what typical animals live in Australia, teacher Jose had a surprise for us. It was to do with something completely different but still very typical from Down Under: crafted items!! He showed us different-shaped boomerangs, a didgeridoo, which is an aboriginal Australian instrument and finally something really cool that makes a unique sound when it's whirled in the air, called bullroarer!

Después de aprender los animales típicos que viven en Australia, teacher José nos tenía una sorpresa guardada. Se trataba de cosas totalmente distintas pero también muy típicas de Australia: productos artesanales! Nos enseñó boomerangs de diferentes formas, un didgeridoo que es un instrumento de los aborígenes australianos y por último algo muy chulo que hace un ruido único al moverlo en el aire y que se llama bullroarer!

When we listened to teacher play the didgeridoo we asked him if we could have a go!

¡Cuando escuchamos a teacher tocar el didgeridoo, le preguntamos si lo podíamos intentar nosotros!

And some children even produced a bit of sound! 

¡Y algunos niños incluso lo hicieron sonar!

AUSTRALIAN ANIMALS BY SOME CHILDREN

We are learning more and more facts about Australia and partly is thanks to the work of some children who bring information to the classroom so thank you very much Vega, Helena and Julia (5-year-old class) and the rest of the children for sharing and explaining what you found out about some typical Australian facts.

Vamos aprendiendo cada vez más cosas sobre Australia y en parte es gracias al trabajo de algunos niños que traen información a la clase. Así que muchas gracias a Vega, Helena y Julia (clase de 5 años) y al resto de los niños por compartir y explicar lo que habéis averiguado sobre cosas típicas de Austrlia.

ZOWI TAKES US TO AUSTRALIA !!!

Children now know that we're travelling to Australia for our next destination. But do they know where it is and what's typical from there? The following video clip shows them, among other things, where exactly Australia is and what animals live there.

Los niños ya saben que nuestro próximo destino es Australia, pero ¿saben donde está y qué es típico de allí? El siguiente vídeo muestra entre otras cosas, dónde está Australia exactamente y qué animales viven allí.

Zowi also travelled on a World map, thus showing us where to find Down Under.
The kids were just too excited and amazed to see Zowi move, especially the 3-year-old class!! The clip shows how thrilled they were!

Zowi también viajó por el mapa mundi, mostrándonos así dónde encontrar Austraila.
Los niños estaban emocionadísimos y asombrados de ver a Zowi moverse, sobre todo la clase de 3 años!! El vídeo muestra lo entusiasmados que estaban!

We wanted to have a picture taken with Zowi once he'd arrived in Australia!

¡Quisimos hacernos una foto con Zowi una vez que había llegado a Australia!

FAREWELL TO THE USA!!!

Well, after being in the USA for a whole month, it was time for us to leave... not without a bit of sorrow though! We had a fantastic time and visited beautiful places along the Route 66 and most importantly, we collected some souvenirs for Zowi's suitcase and for ourselves too!!

Pues después de estar en Estados Unidos durante un mes entero, era la hora de marcharse... pero no sin una lagrimilla! Lo hemos pasado fenomenal y hemos visitado lugares muy bonitos por la Ruta 66 y lo más importante, hemos recogido algunos recuerdos para la maleta de Zowi y también para nosotros!!

But before we left, we wanted to have one last picture taken at the Statue of Liberty!
So, with our suitcase and passport in our hands, we are eagerly ready to make tracks into our next country... Australia!!

Pero antes de marcharnos, queríamos hacernos una última foto en la Estatua de la Libertad!
Y ya con la maleta y el pasaporte en las manos, estamos deseando emprender un nuevo rumbo a nuestro próximo país... Australia!!

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - EMOTIONS

This week we've been revising some emotions we learnt with the big green monster but this time we combined them with numbers.

Esta semana hemos estado repasando emociones que aprendimos con el "big green monster" pero esta vez los combinamos con números.

LET'S EAT IN THE USA!!!

As we continued our trip across the USA collecting information and enriching our knowledge about this country, it was time we learned about its cuisine. The USA is known for its fast food and hamburgers & hot dogs stand out among all the rest! So we wanted to try and prepare our own, however, ours would be very special as they were very healthy made of fruit!! Here's how we made them!

Continuando con nuestro viaje por EE.UU. recogiendo información y enriqueciendo nuestro conocimiento de este país, llegó la hora de aprender sobre su cocina. EE.UU es conocido por su comida rápida, pero dos  sobresalen por encima de las demás, ¡las hamburguesas y los perritos calientes! Así que quisimos probar y preparar unas propias que serían muy especiales porque eran comidadas muy sanas hechas de frutas. ¡Aquí está cómo las hicimos!

First, it was time for a hamburger! - Primero era turno de la hamburguesa!

Once we'd finished and overcome our first cooking challenge, it was time to prepare a hot dog!!

Una vez terminado y superado nuestro primer reto de cocina, llegaba la hora del perrito caliente!!

Now it was time for some dessert! A donut covered in chocolate with toppings!!

Era la hora de un postre! Donut de chocolate con toppings!!

Our last recipe was a bit sweety, marshmallows with rasp & blackberries!

La última receta fue algo dulce, nubes y moras!

5-YEAR-OLD CLASS - PHONICS REVISION

We're continuing with phonics revision and this time we used our mini white boards to do so. We just needed to write the phonic letter of the sound that teacher called out.

Continuamos con el repaso de los phonics y para ello usamos las pizarritas. Simplemente teníamos que poner la letra del sonido que teacher decía.

4-YEAR-OLD CLASS - SHAPES, COLOURS & NUMBERS

On Friday we did a simple 3-in-one revision activity with a shape-colour-nunber pack of cards. The idea was that the children could identify any of the three items and pick the correct card out amongst all of them!

El viernes hicimos una actividad de repaso muy fácil de 3 en 1 con un paquete de tarjetas que llevaban figuras, colores y números. Se trataba de que los niños pudieran identificar cualquiera de las tres cosas y elegir entre todas la tarjeta correcta!

THANKSGIVING DAY!!

Today we went to the school library with the 5-year old class for a special story telling: a Thanksgiving story! We received word that a turkey was in trouble and about to be eaten by a farmer so off we went to find out what was going on!
When we arrived at the library we saw that some of our parents were ready to tell us the "Turkey Trouble" story.
This turkey was very funny because he disguised himself as some animals in order to trick Jack the farmer and not to be eaten by him and his family. And do you know what? Turkey accomplished the mission since they all ate pizza instead!!

Hoy hemos ido a la biblioteca del cole con la clase de 5 años para un cuenta cuentos muy especial: una historia de Thanksgiving! Nos enteramos de que un pavo estaba en problemas porque un granjero se lo quería comer así que nos fuimos para allá a descubrir lo que pasaba!
Cuando llegamos a la biblioteca vimos que algunos de nuestros papás estaban preparados para contarnos el cuento "Turkey Trouble".
Este pavo era muy gracioso porque se disfrazaba de animales para engañar a Jack el granjero y que no se lo comiera él y su familia. ¿Y sabes qué? El pavo consiguió su misión ya que en su lugar todos comieron pizza!!

Muchas gracias a los papás que han hecho posible este cuenta cuentos!
