MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

The first term has gone really quickly and the first thing I'd like to do is wish you all Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year 2019!!

Here's the Xmas activities we did in the last few days! 

¡Aquí podéis ver las actividades que hicimos los últimos días!

 

One day we coloured in a dotted number Xmas tree!

Un día coloreamos un árbol de Navidad con números para unir

Another day we puzzled out a Santa!

¡Otro día hicimos un rompecabezas de Papá Noel!

And we even crafted our own Santa and Elf hats!

¡Y también hicimos nuestros propios gorros de Papá Noel y Elfos!

Finally the day we were all waiting for, arrived. The Three Wise Men came to school first time in the morning on Friday and after seeing them in the playground, we went to see them up close in the multipurpose room; it was a very exciting moment!

Por fin el día que todos estábamos esperando llegó. Los Reyes Magos vinieron al cole a primera hora de la mañana del viernes y después de verlos en el patio, fuimos a verlos más de cerca a la sala multiusos; ¡qué momento tan emocionante!

AUTUMN !!

For the past few weeks, we've been working on different topics, and one that could not be missed out is the season we are in, Autumn.
En las últimas semans hemos estado estudiando diferentes temas y uno que no podía faltar es otoño, que es la estación en la que estamos.

One day we drew and coloured symmetrical leaves in typical Autumn colours, red, orange, yellow and brown.
Un día dibujamos unas hojas simétricas con los colores típicos del otoño, rojo, naranja, amarillo y marrón.

Another day, we decorated an Autumn tree with coloured paper snippets!

¡Otro día decoramos un árbol de otoño con trozos de papel de colores!

And finally we learnt about Autumn fruits and Autumn animals with Blue Bot!

¡Y por último aprendimos algunas frutas y animales del otoño con Blue Bot!

ROSALEROS GOT TALENT - ART !!

Following our day trip to the EXPO site to find out who Talentic was and now knowing what we have to do to help him, we have begun our mission to recover his talents and the one we started off with was the ART talent.
The kids showed their creativity by experiencing with different techniques, from painting with brush strokes on a canvas like, to painting with spaghetti.
They were also asked to make their imagination flow and build any thing that crossed their minds when they were given different equipment such as play dough, pasta tubes, straws, cotton buds, cocktail sticks....

Después de nuestro viaje a la EXPO para averiguar quien era Talentic y qué teníamos que hacer para ayudarle, hemos empezado nuestra misión para recuperar sus talentos y el primero con el que empezamos fue el del ARTE.
Los chicos mostraron su creatividad al experimentar con distintas técnicas, desde dar brochazos de pintura en una especia de canva, a pintar con espaguetis.
Cuando les dimos diferentes materiales como plastilina, macarrones, pajitas, bastoncillos, palillos etc les pedimos que se dejaran llevar por su imaginación y construyeran cualquier cosa que se les ocurriera.

With the blocks and bricks they built houses and castles and with a few snippets they created a collage!
¡Con los bloques y ladrillos construyeron casas y castillos y con los retales de papel crearon un collage!

The following week we spent a day in the museum because Darky had stolen some of the painting figures and we needed to figure out which ones they were, in order to put them all to right!
We had to perform some tasks in different workshops!
La siguiente semana pasamos un día en el museo puesto que Darky había robado algunas de las figuras de los cuadros y necesitábamos resolver cuales eran para ponerlos en su lugar correcto.
Tuvimos que realizar varias tareas en diferentes talleres.

First of all we were explained what all workshops consisted of and as they weren't too difficult, off we went to help Talentic get his Art talent back!
Primero nos explicaron en que consistían todos los talleres y como no eran muy difíciles, ¡empezamos a ayudar a Talentic a recuperar el talento del arte!

En este taller teníamos que explotar globos ya que dentro de ellos había trozos de un cuadro que teníamos que descifrar.

Para este taller teníamos un cuadro al que le faltaban cosas y nosotros teníamos que buscarlas en una caja llena de migas de pan pero usando unas pinzas y no las manos.

Aquí nos encontramos con unos cuadros sin cara y nos teníamos que encargar de ponerles todas las partes.

Una vez que teníamos todos los cuadros, teníamos que encontrar el número que correspondía a cada uno de ellos y que estaban en los pasillos del cole para después colgarlos en las paredes.

Y cuando llegamos al hall, encontramos un cofre el cual guardaba una sorpresa...

Después de calcular como se abría el candado de colores que cerraba el cofre, vimos que dentro había bolsas de Rosaleros Got Talent para cada uno de nosotros.

So our first mission has concluded since we have now recovered the ART TALENT. We are now ready to go onto the next one!

Pues nuestra misión de recuperar el TALENTO DEL ARTE ha concluído. ¡Ya estamos preparados para ir a por el próximo!

MYSTERY BOX !!

The mystery box game started off from the song of the same name whose video clip I'm attaching. The game consists of guessing what's inside the mystery box. We did the guessing bit with the song but then I thought we'd use realia to take the game a bit further. The items we used for the game differ from the ones in the song but the main goal here was to make the children rack their brains and guess which item (out of the ones in the picture) was inside our mystery box.

El juego de la caja misteriosa comenzó de la canción del mismo nombre y cuyo video adjunto. El juego consiste en adivinar que hay dentro de la caja. Nosotros usamos la canción para adivinarlo pero pensé llevar el juego más allá y usar material auténtico. Los objetos utilizados son distintos a los de la canción pero el principal objetivo era hacer a los niños pensar y adivinar que artículo (de los que se ven en la foto) había dentro de nuestra caja.

PHONICS: GROUP 1 !!

For the past few weeks we've been revising the phonics we studied last year and have now completed all Jolly Phonics letters from group 1! S A T I P N
Durante las últimas semanas, hemos estado repasando los phonics que estudiamos el año pasado ¡y ya hemos completado las letras del grupo 1 de Jolly Phonics! S A T I P N

We made a vocabulary poster for each letter!

¡Para cada letra hacíamos un poster de vocabulario!

So that we remembered all phonics, we created a lapbook in which we glued all letters in foldable strips!
Y para acordarnos de todos estos phonics, ¡hicimos un lapbook en el que pegamos todas las letras en unas tiras plegables!

This is our work once finished!

¡Este es nuestro trabajo una vez terminado!

At the very end of it, just to check that we knew all the letter sounds, we did an activity with mini white boards and wrote down the letter that teacher called out!

Justo al final, para comprobar que sabíamos todas las letras de los sonidos, hicimos una actividad con las pizarritas. ¡Teníamos que escribir la letra que decía teacher!

On another day, we used our phonics cardboard to pin all the vocabulary flashcards on it! Every single child who was in class that day had a go!

¡Otro día, usamos el tablero de phonics para poner todas las tarjetas del vocabulario. ¡Todos los niños que estuvieron en clase ese día participaron!
