5-YEAR-OLD CLASS - BUILDING UP ON DIGRAPHS !!

Once all the alphabet phonics had been covered, it was time to learn some digraphs. That's what we've been doing for the past few weeks and to reinforce them we carried out some fun activities.
First, we did a mini-white board activity to practise both the listening and writing skills.

Una vez estudiados todos los sonidos del abecedario, ibamos a aprender fonemas dobles. Es lo que hemos estado haciendo durante las últimas semanas y para repasarlos hemos llevado a cabo unas actividades muy divertidas.
Primero usamos las pizarritas para practicar tanto la destreza auditiva como la escrita.

On a different day we played a domino game with picture-word cards in which the kids had to figure out what word went with what picture. It wasn't an effortless task as some of the words were totally new to them.

Otro día jugamos al dominó con tarjetas, las cuales teníamos que resolver y decidir el dibujo que iba con su palabra. No fue tarea sencilla ya que algunas palabras eran del todo desconocidas para ellos.

Another day we played a phonics-challenge game, which was the one the children enjoyed the most! In this game, they showed their responsiveness as well as their competitiveness.
I'd like to thank my great friend and workmate Marta Ciprés for showing me this game.

Y otro día jugamos a un juego de retos de palabras que fue con el que más se divirtieron los chicos, en el que mostraron su capacidad de reacción y competitividad.

4-YEAR-OLD CLASS - SMASHING PHONICS !!

Before continuing with new sounds, we revised some old phonics we've learnt so far and the way to do so was playing the fly swatter game! In this game, the children practise some skills such as their memory and responsiveness.

Antes de seguir con nuevos sonidos, repasamos algunos phonics que ya sabíamos y lo hicimos ¡con el juego del matamoscas! En este juego, los niños practican algunas destrezas como la memoria y la capacidad de reacción.

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - WORKING ON PHONICS !!

We're making good progress on the learning of new sounds and in order to review the first three phonics we've studied so far, we used 3 rings to place the vocabulary flash cards into them.

Avanzamos en el aprendizaje de nuevos sonidos y para repasar los tres primeros que hemos aprendido hasta ahora, usamos 3 aros para colocar dentro de los mismos el vocabulario correspondiente.

4-YEAR-OLD CLASS - AUDITIONS !!

For the past few days we've been working on an audition in the English class. The song chosen for this activity was "Lemon Tree" by the band Fool's Garden.
In this audition we learnt the vocabulary of some instruments as well as new words such as Sunday afternoon, yellow lemon tree, blue sky, turn my head up and down, too fast, too far.

Durante los últimos días hemos estado trabajando en una audición en la clase de inglés. La canción elegida fue "Lemon Tree" del grupo Fool´s Garden.
En esta audición hemos aprendido el vocabulario de algunos instrumentos y también palabras nuevas como Sunday afternoon, yellow lemon tree, blue sky, turn my head up and down, too fast, too far.

IRISH TRADITIONS !!

We've been learning new facts about Ireland and its culture for the past few days. Last week we set up a workshop in which we carried out different activities.

En los últimos días hemos estado aprendiendo nuevos datos sobre Irlanda y su cultura. La semana pasada formamos un talles en el cual llevamos a cabo diferentes actividades.

We built castles with construction blocks

Construímos castillos con bloques de construcción

We crafted a typical Irish locket

Hicimos a mano un medallón típico irlandés

We painted different-shaped clovers

Pintamos tréboles con distintas formas

and we learnt the sound of Irish instruments with the help of Zowi!
