ASCOT !!

This week we celebrated ASCOT in the school, which is a festivity original from England where the centre of attention doesn't lie so much in the famous horse races but in the ladies' infamous and extravagant hats.
On Friday afternoon the main event of the week took place, the relay horse races. We were honoured to have the visit of Her Magesty The Queen of England, accompanied by Her husband and two Royal Guards and after She greeted all the students, the horse races began.
We had a brilliant time!

Esta semana en el cole hemos celebrado ASCOT que es una celebración originaria de Inglaterra donde el centro de atención no se encuentra en las famosas carreras de caballos sino en los sombreros infames y extravagantes de las mujeres.
El viernes por la tarde tuvo lugar el principal evento de la semana, la carrera de caballos por relevos. Tuvimos el honor de tener la visita de su magestad la Reina de Inglaterra, acompañada de su esposo y dos guardias reales y después de que saludara a todos los estudiantes, comenzaron las carreras.
¡Nos lo pasamos fenomenal!

THEATRE PLAY !!

On Tuesday this week we had the visit of Forum theatre who performed a theatre play in English titled Bunny & the Farm! Sophie (the main character) is given the task to feed all the animals on the farm since her uncle Tom who is usually in charge is away.
El martes de esta semana tuvimos la visita de Forum theatre que representaron una obra teatral en inglés titulada ¡Bunny & the Farm! A Sophie (la protagonista) le encargan las tareas de dar de comer a los animales de la granja ya que su tío Tom que es quien normalmente se encarga no está.

A few days prior to the play, we worked the story in the classroom, meeting all the characters and learning about what we were going to find when we got to the assembly hall.
Unos días antes de la obra, trabajamos la historia en el aula, conociendo los personajes y aprendiendo lo que nos íbamos a encontrar cuando llegaramos a la sala multiusos.

CLOTHING !!

Taking advantage of the fashion talent we've been working on in our project, in the English classroom we wanted to broaden our vocabulary on clothes. In addition to the ones we already knew from last year, we have added a few more garments to our repertoire.
And not only did we learn just their names but also whether the clothes are for cold or hot weather conditions.
Aprovechando el talento de la moda en el cual estamos trabajando en nuestro proyecto, en el aula de iglés queríamos ampliar nuestro vocabulario de la ropa. A parte de la que ya sabíamos del curso pasado, hemos añadido unas cuantas prendas a nuestro repertorio.
Y hemos aprendido no solamente los nombres sino también qué ropa se lleva con frío y calor.

First of all, we sorted out the cold and hot weather clothes on the Interactive White Board. Here's a brief video clip.
Lo primero que hicimos fue clasificar la ropa de invierno y verano en la pizarra digital.

Then, we did exactly the same but on paper, cutting the clothes out and sticking them on.

Después hicimos exactamente lo mismo pero en papel, cortando y pegando la ropa.

Another activity we did was getting a dummy dressed on the IWB.

Otra tarea que hicimos fue vestir a un maniquí en la pizarra digital.

On another day, we played a memory game on the IWB.

Otro día jugamos a emparejar la ropa en la pizarra.

And finally just to check that we remembered all the clothes vocab we'd been learning, we played a "reveal the square" game on the IWB.

Y para terminar de recordar toda la ropa que habíamos aprendido, jugamos a adivinar las prendas que iban apareciendo en la pizarra.

ROSALEROS GOT TALENT - FASHION !!

As you know, we've been working on the fashion talent for a few days now and have done some workshops. The children are really engaged in and motivated about becoming fashion designers and tailors as well as learning some other skills!
Como sabéis, llevamos ya unos días con el talento de la moda y hemos hecho algunos talleres. Los niños están muy motivados y metidos en el papel de ser diseñadores de moda y sastres a la vez que aprenden distintas destrezas!

Firstly, we designed our own necklace and bow tie. We used tablets to make ourselves look nice and glamorous and dressed some dummies up on the Interactive White Board!
Lo primero que hicimos fue crear nuestro propio collar y pajarita. También usamos tablets para hacer que pareciésemos glamurosos y atractivos; también vestimos a maniquíes en la pizarra digital.

For another workshop we had to dress ourselves up however we liked and then pose for a catwalk picture! Glam!!

En otro taller tuvimos que vestirnos como quisiésemos para posar en una pasarela! Fascinante!

On a different day we painted our necklace in a colourful way...

Otro día pintamos el collar de una forma muy colorida...

...we experienced the world of sewing...

...experimentamos con el mundo de la costura...

...and designed our own pattern of clothing!

... y diseñamos nuestro propio patrón de ropa!

Another workshop which we really enjoyed was painting our t-shirt which we'd previously brought to the classroom. We had to be creative and I think they all look fab!

Otro taller el cual disfrutamos mucho fue pintar la camiseta blanca que habíamos llevado a clase. ¡Teníamos que ser creativos y creo que todas salieron genial!

We also learnt how to be a mannequin and how to dress it up! 

¡También aprendimos a ser un maniquí y como vestirlo!

CARNIVAL!!

Last week we celebrated carnival in the school and every single class got involved. The children brought an attire each day throughout the week and on Friday they all dressed up for the occasion and gathered in the primary playground where we danced to typical carnival music and also formed the word ART!

La semana pasada celebramos carnaval en el cole donde todas las clases participaron. Los niños trajeron a clase un atuendo a lo largo de la semana y el viernes se vistieron con todos ellos y todo el cole se juntó en el patio de primaria donde bailamos canciones de carnaval y también formamos la palabra ART.
