READING & WRITING - STORY 1 !!

Hello! We are going to start with some reading and writing skills. As I have mentioned before, it's going to be very simple. We'll be reading and writing sentences of three or four words and the words will also be three or four letters.
There is a coloured reading book and a black and white writing book.
The way to do it is read the sentences first and then write the words missing in the gaps. The kids will write the words by heart and should NOT look and copy them from the book.

¡Hola! Vamos a empezar con lecto-escritura. Como he dicho en otras ocasiones, va a ser muy sencillito. Leeremos y escribiremos frases cortas de tres o cuatro palabras y a su vez las palabras serán de tres o cuatro letras.
Hay un libro de lectura (en color) y uno de escritura (en blanco y negro).
La forma de hacerlo será leer primero las frases y después escribir una palabra en cada frase en el hueco. Los niños escribirán las palabras de memoria y no deben mirar en el libro o copiarse para escribirlas.

Hello, today I want to propose you to play a digraph domino game. The game consists of cards with a picture and a word on it which you have to place in the right order. The phonics are underlined to spot the words more easily. Good luck!

Hello, today we're going to revise vocabulary by playing a domino game. You'll see there are cards with a letter and a picture. You have to join the loose letter with the beginning letter of the picture in a different card. I play the game in the video clip and I do it quite quickly but you can pause it so that your kids have more time to think and find the flashcard.

Hola, hoy vamos a repasar vocabulario jugando al dominó. Veréis que hay tarjetas con una letra y un dibujo; hay que enlazar la letra suelta con la primera letra del dibujo de otra tarjeta. Yo voy haciendo el juego en el vídeo bastante deprisa pero podéis pausarlo para dar más tiempo a los niños a que piensen y busquen la tarjeta.

Hello, today we'll be reviewing digraphs (two-letter phonics) and a CVC (consonant vowel consonant) activity challenge in which the children will have to write the word by listening to the phonics I say. The clip is quite long so I suggest that you do a few words in one go and continue at a later time. For this activity you'll need a pencil and a piece of paper.

Hola, hoy repasaremos los sonidos dobles y un reto de CVC en el cual los niños tienen que escribir la palabra al escuchar los sonidos que yo digo. DIGRAPHS !!

For the past few weeks we've been studying digraphs (two-letter phonics) and so far we've learnt "ch, sh & th". We have done a variety of activities and here are some of them!

Durante las últimas semanas hemos estado estudiando fonemas de dos letras y hasta ahora hemos aprendido "ch, sh y th". Hemos hecho varias actividades y aquí están algunas.

5-YEAR-OLD CLASS - BUILDING UP ON DIGRAPHS !!

Once all the alphabet phonics had been covered, it was time to learn some digraphs. That's what we've been doing for the past few weeks and to reinforce them we carried out some fun activities.
First, we did a mini-white board activity to practise both the listening and writing skills.

Una vez estudiados todos los sonidos del abecedario, ibamos a aprender fonemas dobles. Es lo que hemos estado haciendo durante las últimas semanas y para repasarlos hemos llevado a cabo unas actividades muy divertidas.
Primero usamos las pizarritas para practicar tanto la destreza auditiva como la escrita.

On a different day we played a domino game with picture-word cards in which the kids had to figure out what word went with what picture. It wasn't an effortless task as some of the words were totally new to them.

Otro día jugamos al dominó con tarjetas, las cuales teníamos que resolver y decidir el dibujo que iba con su palabra. No fue tarea sencilla ya que algunas palabras eran del todo desconocidas para ellos.

Another day we played a phonics-challenge game, which was the one the children enjoyed the most! In this game, they showed their responsiveness as well as their competitiveness.
I'd like to thank my great friend and workmate Marta Ciprés for showing me this game.

Y otro día jugamos a un juego de retos de palabras que fue con el que más se divirtieron los chicos, en el que mostraron su capacidad de reacción y competitividad.
