WELCOME HOME ROSALEROS VIAJEROS !!

After travelling in English speaking countries for about eight months, our round-the-World trip came to an end just a few days ago so it was time to return home.

It has been a memorable journey full of adventures with unforgettable and remarkable moments.
During this fascinating journey, we have encountered challenges and difficult situations which we had to overcome but we also came across pleasant and enjoyable activities, which made the journey well worth it.
In addition to being a joyful experience, this project has been above all educational, since we have learnt all kind of topics and facts about different countries, their people and culture.
It has been all in all a mind-blowing project! And we return home with our suitcase full of memories and souvenirs from all the countries we visited but most importantly, knowing that we helped Zowi get all his stuff back including his passport!!


Después de viajar por países de habla inglesa durante ocho meses, nuestro viaje alrededor del mundo se terminó hace unos días, así que era la hora de volver a casa.
Ha sido un viaje digno de ser recordado, lleno de aventuras y de momentos inolvidables y extraordinarios.
Durante este viaje tan fascinante nos hemos encontrado con retos y situaciones muy difíciles que tuvimos que superar pero también nos encontramos con tareas agradables y de gran disfrute con lo que el viaje ha merecido mucho la pena.
Además de ser una experiencia placentera, este proyecto ha sido sobre todo educativo, puesto que hemos aprendido toda clase de temas y contenidos de diferenes países, su gente y cultura.
Ha sido en general un proyecto impresionante y volvemos a casa con la maleta llena de recuerdos y suvenirs de todos los países que hemos visitado pero lo más importante es que sabemos que hemos ayudado a Zowi a recuperar sus cosas incluído su pasaporte!

MEZCLATE Y APRENDE !!

Throughout this academic year as you know, we carried out an inter level project in which children from years 1, 2 & 3 of the infant stage mixed among them in order to work together. The activities consisted of workshops based on Gardner's multiple intelligences and were carried out simultaneously in differnt classrooms once a week. The kids rotated each week so that everyone could do all the intelligences. With these activities, they learnt from and helped each other and the workshops as well as learning served to know one another a little bit better.

Como sabéis a lo largo del curso hemos llevado a cabo un proyecto inter nivelar en el que los niños de 1º, 2º y 3º de educación infantil se mezclaban entre ellos para trabajar juntos. Las tareas consistían en talleres basados en las inteligencias múltiples de Gardner y se llevaban a cabo en las aulas una vez a la semana de manera simultánea. Los niños rotaban cada semana para que pudieran hacer todas las inteligencias. Con ésto, han aprendido entre ellos y se han ayudado y los talleres a parte de aprender, les ha servido para conocerse un poco mejor entre ellos.

In the next video clip you can see how children mixed in the playground in order to go to their workshop. Since each child carried their own coloured medal, they knew which coloured flag they had to go to.

En este vídeo podéis ver como se mezclaban los niños para ir a sus correspondientes talleres. Como cada niño llevaba una medalla de color, ellos sabían a qué pica tenían que ir.

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - MASTERING PHONICS !!

Once completed the Jolly Phonics letter-sound group, we reviewed all the letters and vocabulary around them that we have learnt during the year and to do so we used a special board on which kids had to pin the picture card they chose.
The kids had to associate the picture card name with the beginning of its letter sound.

Una vez que hemos completado el grupo de sonidos de las letras de Jolly Phonics, repasamos todas las letras y el vocabulario que hemos aprendido a lo largo del curso. Para ello usamos un tablero donde los niños tenían que pegar el dibujo que habían elegido.
Los niños tenían que asociar el nombre del dibujo de la tarjeta con el comienzo del sonido de su tarjeta.

THIS GAME IS DA BOMB !!

As the academic year is coming to an end, we are doing more easy-going and fun activities to revise some of the vocabulary we have learnt throughout the year and one of them was this bomb game!
The children had to say a word and pass the bomb on to a class mate before it exploded. This game, as well as memory, it encourages quickness and responsiveness!
We played this game with the 3, 4 & 5-year-old classes and they all responded really well considering they were under pressure!

Ahora que nos acercamos al final del curso, estamos haciendo actividades más relajadas y divertidas para repasar un poco de vocabulario que hemos ido aprendiendo a lo largo del curso ¡y uno de estos juegos fue el de la bomba!
Los niños tenían que decir una palabra y pasar la bomba a otro compañero antes de que explotara. Este juego además de usar la memoria, estimula la rapidez y capacidad de reacción.
¡Este juego lo hicimos con las clases de 3, 4 y 5 años y todos respondieron muy bien teniendo en cuenta que estaban bajo presión!

LITTLE THINGS ABOUT SOUTH AFRICA

Since the arrival in this intriguing and fascinating country, we've been learning facts about its culture, people, food and traditions. During the inter-level activity we carried out four different workshops in order to learn a bit more about South Africa.

Desde que llegamos a este país tan cautivador y misterioso, hemos aprendido muchas cosas sobre su cultura, gent, comida y tradiciones. Durante las actividades internivelares llevamos a cabo cuatro talleres distintos para poder aprender un poco más de Sudáfrica.

CHEESE ROLLING FESTIVITY !!

Last Tuesday we all celebrated the Cheese Rolling festivity at the school, whose origin comes from Gloucestershire, a county in England. In the real festivity, people chase a cheese wheel downhill. At the school though we didn't do that; instead, we had a couple of relay races. In one of them, we had to carry the cheese aloft whereas in the other we rolled it on the ground. At the end of it, we even got a cheesy award for the classroom and a portion of cheese to eat, yum!!

El martes celebramos en el cole la fiesta del "Cheese Rolling" cuyo origen proviene de la región de Gloucestershire en Inglaterra. En la verdadera fiesta, la gente persigue un queso colina abajo pero en el colegio en lugar de eso hicimos carreras de relevos. En una de ellas teníamos que llevar el queso por encima de la cabeza, mientras que en la otra lo llevabámos rodando por el suelo. Al final hasta nos dieron una condecoración del queso para la clase y también una porción para comerla, ¡qué rico!

MOVING INTO SOUTH AFRICA !!

We are coming to the end of this fabulous journey around the World and our last country to visit is the rainbow nation, South Africa! During this visit we'll learn its typical animals, food, instruments they play, crafts and ornaments among other stuff!

In order to travel from the UK to South Africa, we decided to use submarines as our means of transport since we wanted to see the sea creatures.

Llegamos al final de nuestro viaje tan fantástico alrededor del mundo y el último país en visitar es la nación arcoiris, ¡Sudáfrica! ¡Durante esta visita aprenderemos sus animales típicos, la comida, los instrumentos que tocan, su artesanía y decoraciones entre otras cosas!
Para viajar desde El Reino Unido a Sudáfrica, decidimos usar el submarinos como medio de transporte, ya que queríamos ver los animales marinos.

LEARNING ABOUT THE UK !!

We have learned lots of facts about the United Kingdom in the last few days and partly is thanks to all the stuff the families have brought to the classroom. We appreciate all the work you do at home!
We now know what typical food British people eat, what typical landmarks you can see and some other curiosities among other things.

En los últimos días hemos aprendido un montón de cosas del Reino Unido y en parte es gracias a las familias que han traído muchas cosas a la clase. ¡Agradecemos el trabajo hecho en casa!
Ahora ya sabemos qué comida típica comen los británicos, que monumentos típicos podemos ver y algunas curiosidades entre otras cosas.

As we continue our journey around the World, it's time now to visit the United Kingdom, a country full of traditions, history and landmarks that will fascinate you!!
Continuamos con nuestro viaje alrededor del mundo y ahora toca visitar el Reino Unido, ¡un país lleno de tradiciones, historia y monumentos que os fascinará!

After conquering Emerald Isle, we had to do the same with old Blighty if we wanted to follow the thief's trail, so off we went on our hot-air balloons!
Después de conquistar la isla Esmeralda, teníamos que hacer lo mismo con Gran Bretaña si queríamos seguir el rastro de la ladrona, ¡así que allí que nos fuimos en globos aerostáticos!

3-YEAR-OLD CLASS - WORKING ON PHONICS !!

We're making good progress on the learning of new sounds and in order to review the first three phonics we've studied so far, we used 3 rings to place the vocabulary flash cards into them.

Avanzamos en el aprendizaje de nuevos sonidos y para repasar los tres primeros que hemos aprendido hasta ahora, usamos 3 aros para colocar dentro de los mismos el vocabulario correspondiente.

IRISH TRADITIONS !!

We've been learning new facts about Ireland and its culture for the past few days. Last week we set up a workshop in which we carried out different activities.

En los últimos días hemos estado aprendiendo nuevos datos sobre Irlanda y su cultura. La semana pasada formamos un talles en el cual llevamos a cabo diferentes actividades.

We built castles with construction blocks

We crafted a typical Irish locket

Hicimos a mano un medallón típico irlandés

We painted different-shaped clovers

Pintamos tréboles con distintas formas

and we learnt the sound of Irish instruments with the help of Zowi!

WE HAVE MOVED TO IRELAND !!!

After being in India for some time getting Zowi's things back, we got wind of the fact that the thief had fled and was now in a different country. Our first mission was to find out which country that was! It wasn't an easy task since we had to figure out a riddle that was left to us!

Después de estar en La India durante algún tiempo recuperando cosas de Zowi, nos enteramos de que la ladrona había huído y estaba ahora en otro país. Nuestra primera misión era averiguar de qué país se trataba. ¡No fue una tarea facil ya que tuvimos que resolver un enigma que nos habían dejado!

Once we figured out what the riddle hid, we asked Zowi to take us to the country the thief had gone to, which was Ireland!

Una vez resuelto lo que el enigma escondía, le pedimos a Zowi que nos llevase al país donde había ido la ladrona, que era ¡Irlanda!

Now that we knew the country the thief was in, we were ready to conquer it with our ships and find the treasure!!

Ahora que ya sabíamos en qué país estaba la ladrona, ¡estábamos preparados para conqistarlo en nuestros barcos y encontrar el tesoro!

ST. PATRICK

Last week, we celebrated St. Patrick, which was a whole school festivity. We carried out different activities and workshops joined with other classes.

La semana pasada celebramos la festividad de centro de San Patrick. Llevamos a cabo diversas activiades y talleres de forma internivelar.

We made our own Leprechaun hat!
¡Nos hicimos un gorro de Leprechaun!

We flicked choc coins into a pot!

We searched for St. Patrick's typical items in augmented reality!
¡Buscamos cosas típicas de San Patrick en realidad aumentada!

and we visited the St. Patrick exhibition hall!

FAREWELL TO INDIA !!!

Our time in India has come to an end and to say goodbye to the country, we held some typical Indian celebrations. We drank tea (well not the real thing), danced to Bollywood music and threw our own Holi party!!

El periodo de tiempo en la India se nos ha acabado y para decirle adiós, hicimos algunas de las celebraciones típicas hindúes. ¡¡Bebimos té (bueno no el verdadero), bailamos al son de Bollywood y montamos nuestra fiesta particular de Holi!!
