Hello! We're going to start with the first confinement lesson! Today we're going to review something very easy. Well, first of all we'll do the calendar and weather and then we'll revise numbers, emotions, and colours!

¡Hola! Vamos a empezar con la primera clase del confinamiento. Hoy vamos a repasar algo muy sencillo. Bueno, primero haremos el calendario y el tiempo y después repasaremos ¡números, emociones y colores!

ACTIVITIES UNDER LOCKDOWN !! - ACTIVIDADES PARA LA CUARENTENA !!

Hi everyone! During the next two weeks that we must stay at home, I'm going to help the children revise everything we've been doing in the classroom during the academic year. What I'm going to try is make a video clip every day (whenever possible) with all the different topics we have covered so far, so that the children don't forget what they know. So stay tuned in for the latest updates!

¡Hola a todos! Durante estas dos próximas semanas que debemos permanecer en casa, voy a ayudar a los niños a repasar todo lo que hemos hecho en el aula durante este curso. Voy a intentar hacer un vídeo cada día (cuando me sea posible) sobre los diferentes temas que hemos tratado hasta ahora para que a los niños no se les olvide lo que ya saben. ¡Así que estad atentos para estar al día!

DIGRAPHS !!

For the past few weeks we've been studying digraphs (two-letter phonics) and so far we've learnt "ch, sh & th". We have done a variety of activities and here are some of them!

Durante las últimas semanas hemos estado estudiando fonemas de dos letras y hasta ahora hemos aprendido "ch, sh y th". Hemos hecho varias actividades y aquí están algunas.

JORVIK VIKING FESTIVAL !!

On March 4th the whole school celebrated the Jorvik Viking Festival which is a festival that originated in the city of York in the north of England. The previous days we did various activities in the classroom; we coloured in viking ships and viking figures and we made a viking helmet and a shield!
El 4 de marzo todo el colegio celebramos la fiesta vikinga de Jorvik, que es una fiesta originaria de la ciudad de York en el norte de Inglaterra. Los días de antes hicimos varias actividades en el aula; ¡pintamos barcos y figuras vikingas e hicimos un casco y un escudo vikingo!

On Wednesday 4th, we played different games in the Primary playground where the children had a wonderful time!
One of the games the children enjoyed most was the ship race. Here's a clip of the game.

El miércoles 4 jugamos a diferentes juegos en el patio de primaria, ¡donde los niños lo pasaron en grande!

BEE BOT !!

A few days ago, we used BeeBot in the classroom in order to review some of the phonics we've learnt so far. Here's a video clip of the activity.

Hace unos días usamos BeeBot en el aula para repasar algunos de los sonidos que hemos aprendido hasta ahora. Aquí dejamos un vídeo de la actividad.

DA BOMB GAME !!

We never stop reviewing all the vocabulary we've covered so far and in the last few days we played 'da bomb game' in order to do so. This game consists of saying a word from a specific topic that teacher calls out; the children then pass the bomb round before it explodes. This game encourages quickness and responsiveness in addition to activating their memory.

Siempre estamos repasando todo el vocabulario que hemos aprendido hasta ahora y para ello hemos jugado al juego de la bomba durante los últimos días. El juego consiste en decir una palabra de un tema en concreto que teacher nos dice y los niños se pasan la bomba antes de que explote. Este juego además de usar la memoria, estimula la rapidez y capacidad de reacción.

NEW PHONICS !!

Before progressing onto studying digraphs (2 phonemes) we wanted to review all the new phonics we've done this year and to do so, we revised them differently. We matched pictures up with their phonic and identified them on the Interactive board as well as doing blending (break down words into letters).

Antes de avanzar en el estudio de sonidos de 2 fonemas, queríamos repasar todos los sonidos nuevos que hemos estudiado este curso y para ello los estudiamos de diferentes formas. Emparejamos los sonidos con sus dibujos y los identificamos en la pizarra digítal; también desglosamos palabras en los sonidos correspondientes.

PHONICS DOMINO GAME !!

In order to revise some of the phonics we've been working on along this year, last week we played a domino game in which the children had to link phonics with their corresponding picture. An additional difficulty to the game was that the cards came with lower case letters, which we haven't really worked on that much. However, that was no hardship for the children overall since they seemed to figure out which phonic they had in front of them.

Para repasar algunos de los sonidos que hemos trabajado durante el curso, la semana pasada jugamos al domino con unas tarjetas que tenían un dibujo y una letra y que los niños tenían que unir. Una dificultad extra del juego es que las tarjetas tenían las letras en minúscula, la cual apenas hemos trabajado, aunque eso no fue impedimento para ellos, ya que supieron resolver de qué letra se trataba.

AUGMENTED REALITY !!

The first week after the Christmas holiday was a review week and we did activities that weren't very demanding so that the children settled in. One of them was an augmented reality colouring activity. The children particularly enjoyed when they saw on the tablet that what they'd coloured in came alive!

La primera semana después de las vacaciones de Navidad fue una semana de repaso e hicimos actividades que no requerían demasiado esfuerzo para que los alumnos se fueran adaptando. Una de las actividades fue colorear un dibujo de realidad aumentada. Los niños disfrutaron sobre todo cuando vieron que lo que habían coloreado tenía vida propia.
